Teepee

My 7 yo son has been studying Pioneers lately. His class project for this was to make a dwelling. He was chosen to make a teepee. We used to have a "leather" chair that was handed down to us. We had no need for it and no one else wanted it so....it went out to the curb. Being a craft supply horder~~~~~I cut the leather off the chair and saved it for a later project. My family laughs at me and calls me a packrat (inhereted that gene from Grandma) but it came in handy for this project! I turned the "leather" inside out cuz it had just the right color and texture for a teepee. I hot glued skewers for the poles and my son decorated the outside. We used a global priority box as the foundation and used a spray glue to hold down the grass. Then we just hot glued a few Indians on. It went over very well with the class. YEA!!!!

Alien fanny pack

I spent 6 months trying to win AA Hugg-a-buddies pamphlet on Ebay for a reasonable price. I finally did it and this little guy was the first thing I made. It is a child's fanny pack. First you make the fanny pack and then choose which character you put on it. I thought the alien was cute. I really like how the purple and yellow look together.

Here comes Peter Cottontail

This little Easter basket worked up very fast. I wasn't sure if I would like it...but it was too cute not to try it out! He even has a little pom pom for a tail. It has a nice little hole to put some candy in. I think it would make a nice basket for the teacher.

Skull afghan

December's project for the Happy Hooker CAL (http://www.happyhookerchaingang.blogspot.com/) was the skull potholder. I decided it would make a fun afghan for my grandson for Xmas 2007. I think it will add lots of color to his room! I decided not to carry the colors along 'cuz I didn't like the shadows that showed up in the white.
Three down....many more to go! Actually, Hubby thinks 3 across and 8 down should be fine.....maybe 4 across..................

Cupcake stuffies

I spent New Year's eve at home with the family. I was feeling a little crafty, so I worked on the cupcake pattern for a scarf I wanted to make. I also worked on an ice cream cone scarf pattern. Through much trial and error.....I finally figured it all out. I turned the "experiments" into cute little stuffies. I am going to use the green ice cream cone and the blue and white cupcake for the scarves.
