a zigging and a zagging

This is the quilt top I made as part of the zig zag quilt-along over on Flickr. This time I used the tutorial from crazymomquilts. It's a great tutorial but I don't like stitching together the quilt diagonally. It was too much strain on the old brain. I think I'll stick to half square triangles in the future.

This quilt is baby size. I thought the black and white would be a good stimulus for the babies brains. Plus, not all Moms and Dads want the traditional baby colors for their babies quilts.

From bumper to quilt

This is the quilt I made from the baby bumper I picked up at a garage sale for fifty cents. I loved how it had the embroidered vehicles on it. After playing with the design, the family and I decided on putting all the vehicles in the center. At first I was going to try the checkerboard style, but it didn't look right. Too many similar colors touching each other.

I didn't want to quilt through the embroidered pieces so I meandered around them and outlined the center section. The binding is left over pieces.

This will be part of the gift pack for my son's friend. I'm sure he will love it...I know I do! Now to get to work on the girl bumper pad quilt.

Oh Cherry Oh quilt done

I finally quilted the Oh Cherry Oh quilt. I've had it all pinned and waiting for its turn to be quilted. Don't know why I waited for so long. I guess all the new quilts bumped it out of the way.

I just gave it some straight line quilting between the rows. I hear not every quilt needs to be stippled :)

The binding is white and pink (from the back). You can find it in my Artfire shop. Now to start another project or two...

RAOK

I received this great fabric in the mail recently as a RAOK from the quiltswappers group over oat Yahoo. I love the hearts. Not sure what I will do with them yet.
