It has been very dry here this year. Without much rain, we have been getting a lot of birds in the pool looking for water and somewhere to cool off. Today for lunch we had a new visitor. Hubby saw him slithering around the back door. When he went out a few minutes later to see if he was still there, he found him taking a little swim.
I was wondering what to make Robbie's teacher's for an end of the year thank you gift. I figured most teacher's could always use more tote bags for all the books and things they need to carry around. When I told Robbie what I made, he said it would be perfect, 'cuz his teacher always needs more bags to carry all her books. Excellent!!
My 8 year old son has a terrific bus driver! I always like to make her something for all the holidays throughout the year. I made this school bus from an Annie's Attic pattern of the day. I think it is the perfect end of the school year gift for a wonderful lady.
The plane is also from Annie's Attic. I just made it for fun, but I think I need to make a few more for the grandkids for Xmas.
My sewing machine has been humming this week! I made two A-line dresses. One for little Maria (boss ladies Granddaughter) and for Rose (bro-in-laws GD). They were very easy and came out better than I would have thought. I also made another JonJon for Jakie and also one for our Great-nephew Adrian. they all were from the Martha Pullen's Applique book. What a great book! Then I made more bibs and also some headbands. I need to get the wider elastic before I make anymore headbands. I also made a couple more diaper/ wipe travel pouches. these should come in very handy for the new Mom's. Jakie's stuff went out in the mail already....everyone else will have to wait another week. I still have a few more things to make before I can send out the packages.
I found a pattern for a padlock and chain in an Annie's Attic booklet. I knew that I just had to make some. I made one in the size specified. Then I made them a lot smaller so they could be key chains. Then I decided I needed some ball and chain key chains also. These would make great little tuck in gifts or party favors for bachelorette parties.
Jess just LOVES Grumpy Bear! She has been waiting very impatiently for me to make her a Grumpy of her very own. I told her she needed to wait for Xmas. So, now I can send it for Mother's Day and she will be surprised! He was a lot easier to make then I would have thought. Even the thread parts went very fast.
My name is Robin and I am a Wife to a wonderful Husband who "gets" me and my craft addictions. I have always loved to make things with my hands. This love has grown over the years and has broadened as it has grown. I love trying new ideas and looking for new and fun things to craft. I enjoy the challenge of designing my own patterns. I like to make things that bring a smile to people young and old. I have always believed that a handmade item will be remembered and loved for a lifetime therefore I put lots of love into each item I make.
