Toys sent to Kristie

Crayon rolls.....

Fabric bookmarks.....

These were the last of the items for Kristie's toy drive over at the 'ville. I have done this for the three years that Kristie has been collecting toys. It's a great thing she does for the hospital that helped her daughter and family. I committed to 52 toys this year, one a week. I had at least 54 in the box, but I tossed in a couple extras before I taped it shut so I'm not sure the exact count when it went out last week. I love making little things throughout the year for this toy drive. Whenever I test a pattern at least one goes in the Kristie box for the next years drive. When I try out new things, they go in there too (if my kids don't sneak them away first). It doesn't need to be all crocheted either. Many people made all crocheted toys, while others made some and bought some. A few people sent gift cards to Walmart and Kristie and her kids go shopping to find things the boys and girls would like. Kristie told us that the hospital plays games on Fridays and then the kids win little toys. She wanted to have some fun things to go in the treasure box, so all the good people at the 'ville decided to start donating toys to her. Kristie is so generous with her free patterns, this is a great way to repay her for all her kindness!

Hi Val!

These were the first of both for me. I had no idea that you could make bookmarks from anything but paper :) Now I need to make a bunch for add-ins in Christmas cards.
