I joined a new group that just started today. The Patchwork Posse. There is a yearly membership fee. I have been going back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to spend the money to join or not. I was lucky and ended up winning a year's membership. WooHoo! That made the decision alot easier lol.
Anyway...today was the first day. This little bag was posted as January's project. I've seen bags like these on different blogs but the directions never looked easy to me. This bag took all of 15 minutes to make. Now that is easy!
My Halloween stash is still at the top of the pile so that is what I used. I had two pieces that were just a bit bigger than the pattern called for. I raided my stash and found a 9" zipper plus a scrap of batting and I was good to go. I always keep my bits of batting that is at least 4" wide/long for little projects. You just never know when you will need a bit here or there. Like for Christmas ornaments.
This is the back. I also had a few rolls of Halloween ribbon that hasn't been put away yet either. Good thing I'm not overly organized huh? I just did some quick semi-straight line quilting since I knew this was just a trial run to see if I could actually make one.
I might try a couple different things on the next one. Expect to see more of these. I was thinking they would make great little tuck-ins for swaps. Then I could add things in the bag as a little surprise.
