The King has been quilted!!

I finally sat down and quilted Justin's King size Green Beast. See that little bitty throat plate area. I think that's what the space to the right of the needle is called. I managed to roll and smoosh that big boy through :)

I stuck with straight line quilting for this one. Actually I should say semi-straight lines lol. Since this is for my son, I knew I could go a bit crooked and he wouldn't notice (or care). I also ran out of green thread THREE times. Yikes! I ended up using 3 different shades of green on this bad boy. They are all very similar in shade so it's OK.

Suzi even tried to help me do some quilting!

Now I just need to cut and make the binding. Then of course hand stitch it down. That could take a bit. Poor Justin, he has been waiting for his quilt for about 6 months now. I started it back in June '09. I ran out of fabric 3 times before I got it finished. The back is mostly pieced strips too. That ate up a bunch of fabric.

I'm hoping this will be my first finish of 2010. I know it will be done before the end of the month. Once it is done, then I can play around with other quilts. I promised myself that I wouldn't make any other quilts (other than Schnibbles) this month until this one was done.
