Leaving on a jet plane...

All 34 Viking hats are on their way to Staten Island, NY. I mailed them express so they should be at their destination mid morning Wednesday!!  What a relief to have these finished and on their way!

I was doing some figuring at work and realized just how hard I had to work to get these done on time. Each hat takes approximately 5 hours to complete. That includes making the components, attaching the pieces, weaving in ends, and braiding the braids. Some took a bit more and others took a bit less. I actually made a total of 36 in the three weeks that I worked on them. The other two were sent out early on. So if I made 36 hats in three weeks that averages out to 12 hats a week. 36 hats times 5 hours each to make equals 180 hours spent making them. That means that I spent 60 hours a week for 3 weeks making these hats! WOW!! Add in the fact that I also worked 40 hours per week, did the grocery shopping, some cooking, and the bare minimum in the cleaning department. I also had physical therapy for a bum shoulder and neck 3 times a week for about an hour each time. Add in a doctor's visit and now I can see why I have been feeling a bit worn out this month lol.

I had planned on making a cute display of hats for picture taking but the weather didn't cooperate with me. It has been rainy and gloomy for a couple days. Not very good for picture taking especially since we live in a dark and gloomy house with very few poorly placed windows.

I've actually enjoyed this challenge. Don't think I want to do it again but it was a good experience. I now know that I can meet deadlines and survive. Now on to something fun. I need to reward myself for a job well done.
